Does my Swiftcover car insurance cover me for business use?

Your Swiftcover policy typically only covers the journey to and from work, therefore if you require insurance whilst you are actually working, ‘business use cover’ is a necessity – this can be arranged online or by calling the Swiftcover team.

Can I use my Swiftcover car insurance abroad?

Swiftcover car insurance is valid for three days in the European Union – this is completely free of charge. However, if you are abroad for longer than three days or outside the European Union, ‘Driving Abroad Cover’ is required.

Arranging Swiftcover private medical insurance seems sensible but should I require hospitalisation where will I stay?

Swiftcover has an extensive network in excess of 250 approved hospitals – all with private rooms and each providing treatment at a time that suits you.

How do I prove that I have ‘no claims’ status?

If switching to Swiftcover from another provider the provision of a renewal notice from your previous insurer will usually suffice – Swiftcover allow 14 days for you to send your ‘no claims’ proof and they only accept approval documents that are under 24 months old.

If I need to make an insurance claim abroad, what is the procedure?

It is important to be aware that any loss of personal belongings or money when abroad should be reported to the police (and hotel management) within 24 hours, otherwise Swiftcover may not be able to process your claim.

If you suffer sickness or injury abroad please obtain a medical certificate and details of any associated bills you should have paid.
